The Unley Swimming Club is one of the oldest swimming club's in South Australia. Under the guidance of Head Coach, Craig Jones, the club caters for a range of swimmers including Pool, Open Water, Surf and Triathlon. We have had a lot of success in both long and short course state titles over the years across a range of strokes and distances. Our Open Water Swimming is renowned for its phenomenal success at both National and State championships. Once again UNLEY SWIMMING CLUB has been crowned the State Open Water Swimming Champions of South Australia. This is now the sixth consecutive year that Unley has taken out this title. This is a wonderful achievement by all of those involved with a huge level of committment required by coaches and athletes alike.
Significantly, Unley Swimming is recognised as one of the premier clubs at which to train in the surf and multi-sport area. We have numerous National and State title holders training with us providing a unique learning environment for emerging young athletes. We take pride in developing talent as well as good people.
At Unley Swimming regular Time Trials are held during the Summer season, encouraging members of all sports to compete thereby enabling them to monitor their improvement. Club Championships are held towards the end of the Summer season. This encourages new members to venture further in the competitive arena. During the winter months the Club trains at Westminster Indoor Pool and maintains this competitive spirit throughout the short-course season.
The Club holds many social activities driven by the club captains and younger athletes. As with all sports, it relies heavily on the efforts of volunteers. Unley Swimming is renowned as a friendly, family club and we welcome new members.
